If you really consider them as different species, then answer me one question:

SEASON 1 EPISODE 8 TIME about 9:23-9:27

This time contains Applejack holding some sticks with marshmallows.

There have been scenes with ponies holding things with only one hoof like e.g. Pinkie Pie holding a whistle but you could consider it partially metallic.
There have also been scenes with ponies holding things which cannot be metallic with two hooves like e.g. Fluttershy holding a bunny but you could consider the hooves pressing against each other.

But this scene is a scene in which Applejack holds sticks. And sticks aren't magnetic. Marshmallows aren't, either. And Applejack used one hoof, only.

There are also many scenes in several episodes in which Applejack plugs others' mouths with apples. She pushes apples into their mouths. With only one hoof.

I'm not done, yet. There are MANY other scenes in the FIM show containing ponies holding non-magnetic things with only one hoof, too. Here's a few more examples:

MLPFIMS2E18 contains Applebloom holding a skipping rope with only one hoof. The next scene, Pinkie picks the rope up with her front hooves. The rope's holders might be metallic. OK. The episode also contains Pinkie Pie grabbing several other things with her hoof. You might consider Pinkie Pie an exception. Fine.

MLPFIMS2E23 contains Diamond Tiara holding a folder of papers / a stack with her hoof. And several other ponies holding newspaper articles with their hooves. Do you think paper is magnetic? There's also a scene of Sweetie Belle holding a pencil and a notepad. With her hooves.

Explain these to me. I could also find some more, just by searching.

Some scenes hint that ponies might be having no thumbs but instead the ability to bend their hooves to wind around some objects. Jared should still have had no problems picking that pen up, even if that pen wasn't magnetic and Jared doesn't know how to use horn magic.


Are you really trying to tell me that all these scenes of ponies grabbing things with their hooves are all animation errors? They might be if they were 2 or 3 but this is way too many scenes! I doubt so. Also, the animators making MLPFIM are partially those who worked on classic MLP, too, and partially people who enjoyed watching MLP when being children. I believe they didn't put these scenes in there for no reason.
